All Stars gain three points on the log 7/24/2009
All Stars' point build up on the Glo Premier League standings has received a further boost.

The Blues are three points and three goals richer following a Disciplinary Committee's ruling that Eleven Wise forfeits its match-day-22 fixture on June 14 against All Stars for using an unqualified player.

The player, Abdullai Zakaria was said to have failed to serve the mandatory one-match suspension before he was subsequently used in the match-day-22 fixture against All Stars which ended goalless.

By the DC's decision, All Stars leap to the 7th position on the log.

Wise were found at fault by the Disciplinary Committee for the use of player, Abdullai Zakaria, in the said match at the Sekondi Sports Stadium following a protest filed by Sporting Mirren.

Mirren protested the use of Zakaria for the match-day-22 fixture despite the player having picked up three yellow cards in the 5th, 9th and 21st round of matches in competition.

Zakaria, then a Mirren player before his switch to Wise had received two cautions - in the 5th and 9th round of matches before picking another caution in the 21st week game, this time as a player of Eleven Wise.

According to the Disciplinary Committee statement:

“Therefore, Sekondi Eleven Wise cannot be excused for not taking account of Zakaria Abdullai’s disciplinary records with his former club in the same 2008/2009 Glo Premier League.”

The DC’s decision reads: “For fielding an unqualified player, Sekondi Eleven Wise is to forfeit Week 22 of the 2008/2009 Glo Premier League match against Wa All Stars in line with GFA Regulation 34(2).”
